Cookie policy
This website sets only the small number of essential cookies it needs to work securely. This page explains what they are, when they are set and the choices you have.
Last updated: November 2026
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device - usually in your web browser - to help the site work. This page explains which cookies this website uses, when they are set and the choices you have.
The short version: this website sets essential cookies only. It does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies of any kind. When you donate, our payment provider, Stripe, also sets cookies it needs for security and fraud prevention.
The cookies this website sets
This website is built on WordPress. Simply browsing the site does not set any cookies. WordPress sets a small number of short-lived session and security cookies only when they are needed - for example, when you submit a form on this site, to protect that form from misuse and to check that the submission came from a genuine visit. These cookies are essential for the website to work securely. They are not used to identify you, to build a profile of you or to follow you to other websites.
Members of our own team who sign in to edit the website also receive standard WordPress login cookies. Ordinary visitors never receive these.
When you donate
Starting a donation sets a small number of cookies from this website that remember your donation while you move to payment (WooCommerce basket and session cookies). They are removed when the session ends or soon after.
The payment page also loads Stripe’s secure payment form. Stripe sets its own cookies (named __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) on that page to help detect fraud and keep the payment secure. They are needed for the payment to work safely, they are not used for advertising, and they are only set on the payment page, not while you browse the rest of this website. You can read more in Stripe’s cookies policy.
What this website does not use
- No analytics or statistics cookies.
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No third-party cookies that follow you across the web for advertising or tracking.
Because the cookies set are essential only, you will not see a cookie consent banner here - there are no optional cookies to consent to.
If this changes
If we introduce analytics or any other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this page before they are used, explain clearly what they do, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can view, block or delete cookies at any time through your web browser’s settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of this website - such as our contact form or the donation payment page - from working properly. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) publishes independent guidance on cookies and how to manage them.
