Working alongside professionals

Noah's Story Charity works with healthcare and other professionals to improve access to compassionate, grief-informed bereavement support for children, young people, adults and families across Northern Ireland.

Why this matters

Support that reaches families where they already are

Professionals are often among the first people a bereaved family meets. A GP, a practice nurse, a teacher or a coach may be the first person a child or an adult speaks to after someone has died, and what happens in that moment matters.

Our work with professionals has two purposes: to put practical, age-appropriate resources into the settings families already trust, and to help the people working in those settings feel better equipped to respond. Everything we offer is grounded in Continuing Bonds Theory and informed by contemporary bereavement research.

GP surgeries and Good Grief Partner Practices

Two ways your practice can work with us

Whether you would like kits for the families you see, or you would like your surgery to become a Good Grief Partner Practice, the same short enquiry form reaches us.

  • Request Good Grief Kits

Ask about Good Grief Kits for your practice or organisation. Tell us roughly how many and which age stages you have in mind, and we will come back to you about what is possible.

  • Become a Good Grief Partner Practice

We will establish our first Good Grief Partner Practice in 2027. If your surgery would like to be part of how that model grows, we would be glad to talk.

Professional Training Tool

A learning resource for professionals

In collaboration with the Public Health Agency, we have developed a learning resource for professionals to enhance their understanding of how best to support bereaved children, individuals and families. The resource is designed to promote informed, compassionate and trauma-aware approaches to bereavement support. It is available upon request and is intended for use solely within professional settings. Given the sensitive nature of its content, it should be accessed and used in a confidential and responsible manner.

Available on request

The Professional Learning Resource is released on request rather than published as a public download, so that it reaches professional settings and is used in the way it was designed for. Use the form below, choosing Requesting the Professional Learning Resource, and we will reply to your professional email address.
