Good Grief Kits available to order online

Good Grief Kits

Four kits, four stages of life

The Good Grief Kits are now available to order through our website. A kit can be bought for a child or adult you want to support in grief, or bought as a donation so that Noah’s Story Charity can pass it on to a grieving child or adult who needs support.

Each kit is £22, and each is developed for a particular stage of life, because what helps a five-year-old is not what helps someone of forty.

What the kits are built on

Continuing bonds, made practical

What the kits are built on

Every kit is grounded in Continuing Bonds Theory. Contemporary bereavement research recognises that grief is not about letting go of someone who has died, but about finding healthy ways to maintain an ongoing connection with them - through memories, storytelling, rituals, creative expression and shared family conversations.

That is why the kits contain what they contain: a book that gives a child language for love that continues, a keepsake that can be held in a difficult moment, a remembrance activity a family can do together, and a professionally produced booklet from Barnardo’s that families can return to as understanding changes over time.

The kits are practical resources for remembrance and conversation. They are not therapy, and they are not a substitute for specialist support where that is needed.

Reaching families through primary care

Good Grief Kits are also distributed through GP practices, where they offer an accessible early resource that helps families find supportive conversations and grief-informed activities within their own homes and communities. You can read more about that work on our Good Grief in GP Practices page.
